Our Process

Basement Builders of Colorado has developed an excellent system of Design and Build remodeling that puts you first. We understand it’s your home, your money and that we work for you!

Basement Builders of Colorado divides the design/build process into four basic steps.
1.) Initial Consultation
2.) Design & Estimate Presentation
3.) Construction Agreement and Construction Process
4.) Warranty

Step 1 - Initial Consultation
The initial consultation is conducted at the site of the proposed remodeling project. There is no cost or obligation from you, the homeowner for this appointment. It simply allows Basement Builders of Colorado’s Home Consultants to look at the existing structure and visit with you about what you hope to get from your remodeling project. You will work with one of our Home Consultants in filling out a questionnaire to help get your dreams and ideas for your project down on paper. During this same time the second Home Consultant will be measuring the space, taking pictures and creating a rough drawing of your existing space. This process helps us to create the best design layout and estimate just for you.

Step 2 - Design and Estimate Presentation
Basement Builders of Colorado begins the design and estimate process at the initial consultation. We usually request an appointment to meet with ALL the decision makers on your project about a week after the initial consultation. Our Home Consultant brings the design layout and Specification and Estimate document. We walk you through your free initial design; discuss the scope of work and the estimated price. If you chose to have us do design revisions or are ready to get on our construction schedule, you will be asked to sign the Specification and Estimate document and pay Basement Builders of Colorado a design deposit of $225.

You are asked to review the renderings and inject your revisions or approval. We go back to the drawing board and make the revisions that you request and create the construction agreement and detailed design based upon your requests. At this point you are only obligated for the $225. When we come to an agreement and you sign a construction agreement with Basement Builders of Colorado the $225 will be applied to your overall project cost. Should you choose to use another company we will give you the (one time revision) full revised design layout and it is yours to keep for the cost you already paid.

Step 3 - Construction Agreement and Construction Process
Once the Construction Agreement has been signed the Basement Builders of Colorado Operation Team goes to work. A pre-construction meeting will be held with you the homeowner and your Superintendent. Here you will discuss the logistics of your project. You will discuss the agreement contents ONE MORE TIME to make sure we all agree on what we are building.

You are assigned a Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator will work with you to prepare a list of decisions you need to make and when. We guide you through your material selections, what to look for and where. Your Superintendent and Project Coordinator work together to insure that all work is done in a timely and professional manner.

Step 4 - Warranty
Once your project is completed, Basement Builders of Colorado will warranty the workmanship performed. We will call you, the homeowner, 30 days after the project’s completion to see if any items need to be corrected or adjusted. We will then call again in 11 months to verify everything we did is in good working order. If not, we will return in a timely manner to fix or adjust any items not performing properly.
